Tips to Help You Choose a Reliable Deer Park, NY Foundation Waterproofing Contractor
Whether you’ve recently experienced your first basement water problem, you’ve been having issues for a while, or you want to be proactive and protect your Suffolk County home from potential water intrusion, you want to make sure that you hire the most reliable Deer Park, NY basement waterproofing contractor.
Finding foundation waterproofing contractors isn’t hard; just do a quick search for “foundation waterproofing near me” and there’s no doubt you’ll find a long list of results. What is hard, however, is determining which company you should choose. To assist you with finding a reputable Deer Park, NY basement waterproofing contactor that you’ll feel confident will offer reliable results, here are some tips to point you in the right direction.
A Solid Reputation
A credible Deer Park, NY basement waterproofing contractor will have a reputation of excellence. They will have dozens of satisfied clients, and they’ll be hailed for providing durable, long-lasting, yet affordably priced results. When you’re researching companies that specialize in foundation waterproofing near you, check for client testimonials and reviews to see what other Suffolk County property owners have to say.
A Valid License and Insurance
In Suffolk County, companies that offer foundation waterproofing services are legally required to have a valid license and insurance; however, that doesn’t mean they all do. Make sure that you ask any of the contractors you’re considering if they’re licensed and insured, and ask to see proof of both. A reputable Deer Park, NY basement waterproofing contractor will be more than happy to share this information with you.
A Written Estimate
Trustworthy Deer Park, NY basement waterproofing contractors will always offer a detailed written price estimate that highlights the costs that are associated with their services. If any of the companies you speak with don’t provide a written price estimate, consider that a red flag and cross them off your list.
Fair and Affordable Pricing
When you speak with companies that offer foundation waterproofing near you, inquire about the rates they charge. While it goes without saying that you want to pay a fair and affordable price, cost shouldn’t be the deciding factor. If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is, so while it might be tempting to go with a really low rate, you should proceed with caution. It’s also important to note that a credible Deer Park, NY basement waterproofing contractor will never ask for a large upfront payment. While they might ask for a down payment, it should be a small percentage of the price you were quoted; it should certainly not be a sizable amount.

Deer Park is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Babylon, Suffolk County, New York, United States, on Long Island. The population was 27,745 at the 2010 census.
Deer Park is a residential hamlet located in the pine barrens in the northeast corner of the town of Babylon. It grew out of Jacob Conklin’s 1610 settlement of the Half Way Hollow Hills, later Wheatley Heights. Charles Wilson started what is now Deer Park in 1853 about eleven years after the Long Island Rail Road arrived in 1842-when he established a large and productive farm. A post office was opened in 1851, closed in 1872 and re-opened on July 1, 1873. Deer Park had an elementary school in 1874. Prior to 1923, the Deer Park School District took in Deer Park and Wyandanch.
Farming was a staple of this small town for most of its history. Known as the ‘fruit basket’ of New York state, the area was also famed for its dahlia cultivation. It was not until the effects of the post-World War II boom reached Deer Park that its economy ceased to be agricultural.
Deer Park had two industries before 1940: the Walker and Conklin firm baked red bricks in West Deer Park (now Wheatley Heights), and the Golden Pickle Works (1902) prepared pickles in Deer Park. Deer Park was the locale of the Edgewood State Psychiatric Hospital (1938–1969)-originally a tuberculosis sanatorium, and later an Army hospital during World War II. The Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corporation established a factory in Deer Park in 1956.
